Can I extract a tooth and place an implant at the same time? What if the tooth is a molar?
Yes. Immediate placement is a very common procedure with the Bicon System. When immediate placing an implant after a molar extraction, usually we recommend positioning the pilot drill on the center of the septum bone, and once we increase the diameters of the reamers, the septum bone collapses providing the bone support for the implant and the other remaining walls from the socket will provide additional support. This technique is only a suggestion. There are many different techniques for this procedure; it is up to the clinician to select the best option. In most cases, it is always necessary to fill the bone voids in molar placements with bone graft materials. We recommend using SynthoGraft.
