How do we select an appropriate abutment for a case?

Last Updated: Dec 04, 2013 02:35PM EST
Usually we take into consideration a few pieces of information in order to select an appropriate abutment for a case:
  • The tooth to be restored
  • The interproximal space
  • How deeply the implant was placed and the occlusal clearance
With these pieces of information it is easy to look at the Bicon catalog and select an adequate abutment for a case. NOTE: When restoring an implant with a Porcelain Fused to Metal crown, it is necessary to leave enough space for the metal and ceramic.
